Terraform
Terms of service
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Draft for legal review. The parts in brackets are still to be filled in, and nothing here is final.
The short version
- Play fair, be kind to other players, and don’t break or automate the game.
- Recharges and membership are optional. Bought recharges never expire, and you can undo a purchase within 48 hours while it’s unused.
- Membership renews monthly until you cancel, which takes two taps in Settings → Purchases.
- We give 14 days’ notice before changes to these terms or to prices, and 60 days’ notice, with refunds for members, before the game closes.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Nelson Brown (“we”) about Terraform. By playing, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t play.
Who can play
- Anyone can play as a guest. Accounts are for players 13 and older.
- If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian should read these terms with you. Each purchase you make needs their approval by email.
- Mature content is only for signed-in adults who choose to turn it on.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else is using it.
- One person per account. Don’t sell, trade or share accounts.
- The name you choose must pass the game’s name check, and mustn’t pretend to be someone else or be offensive. We may change a name that breaks this.
The shared world
Terraform is one world that players green together, so a few things work differently from a game you play alone:
- A chapter you’re playing is held for you while you play. If it goes unplayed for 24 hours, you’re warned and it passes to the next player, who picks it up where you left off. You keep credit for every checkpoint you finished.
- The game builds and checks every puzzle on its server. If a puzzle turns out to be broken, the game may repair, replace or skip it, and tells you why.
- We may change the game, its puzzles and its rewards to keep it fair and fun. We tell you about changes that matter in the game and in What’s new.
Purchases
What you can buy
- Recharges refill your lives so you can restart a puzzle. Bought recharges never expire.
- Membership gives unlimited recharges and the monthly member bonus calendar, for as long as it’s active. It doesn’t remove ads.
- Prices are shown in the store before you pay, with any tax added at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.
Recharges, items and currencies aren’t money
Recharges, stardust, cosmetics and other items in the game are a license to use them in Terraform. They have no cash value, can’t be exchanged for money, and can’t be sold or transferred outside the game, except as gifts between friends in the game.
Membership renews until you cancel
- Membership is charged monthly, at the price shown when you join, until you cancel. We remind you 3 days before each renewal.
- Cancel any time in Settings → Purchases. It stays active until the end of the month you’ve paid for, with no further charges.
- You can pause membership for a month, once every 6 months, from the same place.
- For players under 18, membership is one month, paid once, and never renews.
Undos and refunds
- You can undo a purchase within 48 hours for a full refund, while the recharges are unused (or, for membership, before an unlimited recharge is used).
- After that, you can ask for a refund in Settings → Purchases. A person reads every request.
- A gift your friend doesn’t answer within 30 days, or declines, is refunded to you in full.
- Nothing here limits refund rights you have under the law where you live.
Spending limits
You can set a monthly spending limit in Settings → Purchases, and the game won’t let you go over it.
Ads
You choose whether to see ads, and can change your mind in Settings → Privacy and ads. Ads are shown only in fixed spaces between puzzles or beside the play area, never over a puzzle, and never earn rewards. How ads use information is in the privacy policy.
Playing fair
Please don’t:
- use bots, scripts or other tools to play for you, or change or reverse-engineer the game’s code or traffic;
- exploit bugs to gain an advantage (tell us instead, from Settings → Send feedback);
- harass, threaten or deceive other players, or use names, gifts or invites to do so;
- get around the age, purchase or parent-approval rules;
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren’t yours, or overload the game.
If you do, we may take back what was gained, pause features, or suspend or close the account. We’ll tell you why, and you can ask us to look again at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
What’s ours, and your feedback
The game, its art, story, voices, puzzles and code belong to us or the people we license them from. Playing gives you a personal, non-transferable right to play the game for fun, nothing more.
If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the game without owing you anything for them.
Leaving, and if the game closes
- You can delete your account any time from Settings → Account. Membership is cancelled at deletion; the 48-hour undo still applies, but the rest of the current month isn’t refunded.
- If we ever close the game, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice in the game and by email, refund members for the unused part of their current month, and you can download your collection as pictures and text before it closes.
- Bought recharges and items have no value outside the game, so they aren’t refunded when the game closes, except as the law requires.
Disclaimers and limits
[DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES: FOR EXAMPLE, THE GAME IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND MAY BE INTERRUPTED OR CONTAIN ERRORS, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS]
[LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: FOR EXAMPLE, A CAP SUCH AS THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS, AND WHAT CAN’T BE LIMITED UNDER CONSUMER LAW]
Disputes
Please contact us first at [SUPPORT EMAIL]; most problems can be fixed quickly.
[GOVERNING LAW AND WHERE DISPUTES ARE HEARD (FOR EXAMPLE, THE LAWS OF A STATE AND ITS COURTS), AND ANY ARBITRATION OR CLASS-ACTION TERMS, WITH CONSUMER-LAW EXCEPTIONS FOR PLAYERS OUTSIDE THE US]
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the game at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and list it in What’s new. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply. Price changes for membership never apply to a month you’ve already paid for.
